The contest was due to take place on September 28 in Manchester but had to be postponed after Haye sustained a deep cut above his left eyebrow during sparring ahead of the fight.

But the bout is officially back on after Fury wrote on Twitter: “Lawyers just confirmed Haye contract agreed & signed.”

Following Haye’s withdrawal from the original fight, Fury was insistent he would not put pen to paper on a revised contract until he received assurances that the Londoner would not pull out of the contest for a second time.

Fury’s stance appears to have softened with the news that the fight will now take place next year.

The Fury camp have been very critical of Haye with Tyson’s uncle and trainer Peter going as far as accusing the former world heavyweight champion of trying to duck the fight in order to set up a clash with Vitali Klitschko.
