Two UFC vets saw mixed results in their promotional debuts at Friday’s Bellator 102 event: Cheick Kongo (19-8-2 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) unloaded knees on an overmatched Mark Godbeer (8-2 MMA, 0-1 BMMA), but Lavar Johnson (17-8 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) suffered a surprise upset loss and was flattened in 23 seconds by Vinicius Queiroz (7-3 MMA, 2-1 BMMA).
The bouts, which kicked off the organization’s Season 9 four-man heavyweight tournament, took place at Visalia Convention Center in Visalia, Calif.
